The end of June Mom, Tim, Kaleb and I had the chance to go up to Grandma Allred's cabin. It was so nice to get out of the city and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. We got up there in the early evening on friday. Grandma had dinner ready for us, after we had it all cleaned up we played games . Grandma just loves to play games and since Tim has learned to play bridge he is a little obsessed, so we played bridge until 1 in the morning. Mom and I were on a team and then grandma and tim were on a team. Mom and I had no chance of winning since grandma is very good at bridge and Tim is very competitive. Poor mom never got very good hands. But we cheated for mom the next day when we played, grandma had no idea.
The next morning Tim had the privlege to help grandma plant her very favorite trees, Aspens, which she seems to have the worst luck keeping alive up at the cabin. He planted 10 for her in various places. I guess we will see if they survive the winter and deer. The friday we went up mom's eye had started to get an eye infection but while at the cabin it continued to get worse. Then on saturday she could barely keep it open and even started to run a fever. So we had dinner and drove home so mom could get up in the morning and get it checked out.
We really enjoyed our time there. Even Kaleb loved being there at least as much as a 3 month old can, however he did not enjoy the cold water! We had a blast and are so glad we have the cabin to go to and enjoy!
